As Smart lifts the lid on the new ForTwo and ForFour this week, CAR magazine looks back on wonderful, wacky and downright woeful Smart special editions and concepts that have been created since the diminutive City Coupe first arrived on the scene in 1998. The Crossblade was a 2002 special edition based on the cabrio version of the city car. Its Brabus-tuned motor put out 70bhp and the car weighed just 740kg.
Mazda has revealed the Mazda6 Estate ahead of its public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show alongside the new Mazda 6 saloon. Last week saw the reveal of the new Mazda6 ahead of its public debut in Paris, and we knew that Mazda were planning to unveil the Estate version of the Mazda 6 at Paris too after they revealed it in Japan last month. And here it is.

The Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer bagged its world debut as an Opel-badged vehicle in Paris. Yet another well styled, curvaceous family estate in the vein of the Citroen C5, Ford Mondeo and Honda Accord, it begs the question: is the large boxy load-lugger now officially dead?
The curving roofline – with integrated rear spoiler to visually extend it even further – plus a much more shapely rear end consign the very square old Vectra estate to history. It also results in a decent-for-class 0.30 Cd drag coefficient.
